Let an AI interrogate your spec, one multiple-choice question at a time

sweetmelon team · Operations

You wrote the spec, which is why you can't see what's missing from it. Development starts, and by Wednesday someone is asking what happens when a discount and a credit land on the same order. Hand the document to an AI and forbid it from rewriting a word. Its job is to ask. Have it go section by section, find everything that hasn't actually been decided, and turn each one into a multiple-choice question with the options you'd realistically choose between. Ask for a few dozen at a time, so you can sit down and answer with letters. Plenty of what it asks won't be worth your attention. Skip whole runs of them instead of dutifully answering every detail it can think of. When you've been through the batches that matter, have it fold your answers back into the document. The spec comes out longer and the questions stop arriving mid-build. Keep the answers themselves, too: they record who decided what and what the other option was, which the finished document never shows. Anything written but not settled takes the same treatment, whether it's a rollout plan or a policy nobody has tested yet.
