Ask an AI to criticize your deck and change nothing
The deck is done. You have read it twice, it seems fine, and you can no longer tell whether it is. Paste the finished outline and give one instruction: criticize it, change nothing. Then hand it a hard reviewer's questions. Can the point of this page be seen in five seconds. Is the title a claim or a label, because "Q3 results" is a label and "Q3 held up on two accounts" is a claim, and only one of them does the work of the page. Are these bullets paragraphs wearing bullet clothes. Should this page be cut, or merged with the one after it. Then, across the whole thing: is there a line of argument running through it, and which two pages are the weakest. Asking for the weakest two matters. With no ranking forced on it, every page comes back solid with room to tighten, which is the reviewing equivalent of nodding along. Keep it away from the rewriting. A returned draft that reads better teaches you nothing about what was wrong with yours, and the repair arrives in its words rather than in yours. A list of problems leaves the fixing with the person who knows what the deck is for. The same instruction works on anything you were about to send: a proposal, a long mail, a client document. Only the questions change.
